Dr. Rothbaum completed his internship and residency training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Rothbaum spent a year of his training focusing on Facial Plastic Surgery under the principal guidance of Drs. Ira Papel and Patrick Byrne, nationally recognized leaders in the field.
While at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Rothbaum helped to develop one of the first robotic surgical systems for head and neck surgery (the “Steady Hand Robot”). He applied this system to middle and inner ear surgery. Dr. Rothbaum also designed and patented several novel surgical instruments.
Dr. Rothbaum has spent considerable time abroad and speaks conversational Spanish, Portuguese, and Hebrew. In his free moments, he enjoys hiking, biking, and jogging, but he gets most of his exercise chasing after his two young sons.
