Get to Know Dr. Shelley L. Anderson

Dr. Shelley L. Anderson is a board-certified audiologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating hearing and balance disorders in adults. She is dedicated to helping patients better understand their hearing health and providing personalized solutions that improve daily communication and overall well-being. Dr. Anderson joined the Atlantic Hearing and Balance team in 2019 and brings extensive experience in comprehensive hearing evaluations and advanced hearing technology. She works closely with patients to identify the most effective treatment options for their specific hearing needs.

Education and Clinical Training

Dr. Anderson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Special Education – Deaf Studies from the University of North Florida and went on to complete her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) at the University of South Florida.

She completed her clinical residency at the Tampa Bay Hearing and Balance Center in Tampa, Florida, where she received advanced training in the assessment and treatment of hearing and balance disorders. Following her residency, she continued working at the center, providing specialized audiologic care for adult patients.

Dr. Anderson also gained valuable experience working with the Adult Cochlear Implant Team at the University of North Carolina Hospital, where she developed a special interest in cochlear implant technology and advanced hearing solutions.

Specialized Audiology Services

Dr. Anderson is highly trained in a wide range of audiology services, including comprehensive audiological evaluations, hearing aid technology, and implantable hearing solutions. Her expertise includes evaluating patients for cochlear implants and bone-anchored hearing devices, as well as providing post-implant programming and long-term hearing support.

She works with all major cochlear implant manufacturers, including Advanced Bionics, MED-EL, and Cochlear Americas, allowing her to tailor treatment plans based on each patient’s hearing profile and lifestyle.

Dr. Anderson is a licensed audiologist in the state of Florida and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (F-AAA).
