April World Health Day

April 7, 2020 World Health Day:

World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on April 7th, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO). World Health Day is held to draw worldwide attention to a subject of major importance to global health each year. The WHO organizes international, regional and local events on the Day related to a particular theme.

As 2020 is the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife, World Health Day will highlight the current status of nursing around the world. Nurses and other health workers are at the forefront of the response to COVID-19 by providing quality treatment and care, initiating dialogue to address fears and questions and collecting data for clinical studies. Without nurses, there would be no response.

On World Health Day, we recognize and support the nursing and midwifery work forces around the world who ensure that everyone, everywhere gets the healthcare they need.
